Sandblasting and stained glass engraving
Sandblasting is a technique that uses abrasion to opacify the surface of a glass sheet in a homogeneous and uniform way, depriving it of its natural transparency.
Through sandblasting, writings or drawings can also be created on the surface of the plate, which remain imprinted on the glass "in negative" through the prior application of adhesives specially made, creating a discontinuity between the opaque parts treated with sandblasting and those protected by adhesives , which remain shiny and transparent.
Engraving, on the other hand, allows you to customize sheets and glass with unique artistic motifs, based on drawings or using geometric shapes and motifs by removing the surface of the previously sandblasted glass entirely by hand.
With these techniques it is possible to screen, always letting the light pass and customize dividers, windows and small objects with motifs, which play on the contrast between decorations and satin effect.
The dialogue between transparency and satin finish creates a delicate and elegant decorative effect, which defines spaces with light and originality and gives three-dimensionality to a window, which changes with the variation of the light.
