A journey to the shrine of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe

The liturgical memory of the Virgin of Guadalupe will be soon celebrated on 12th December. An opportunity to visit the sacred pilgrimage site in Mexico.
Like every year, on 12th December the liturgical memory of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated. She appeared in Mexico in the 16th Century.

The devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe began in 1531, after her revelation to the Indian Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, who converted after the episode. The particularity of this event lies in the visible sign left on the tilma, the indigenous cloak used by the young man. It is an acherotipa image, which is not of human origins.

The Virgin apparition was a decisive element in the evangelization of Mexico and later all Latin American countries. Nowadays, the Virgin of Guadalupe is, in fact, officially the patron saint and queen of all Spanish-speaking peoples. There are many reproductions of the Virgin of Guadalupe in different materials and shapes. From the little statue of Our Lady made of resin to the ones made of wood, carved and hand-painted.

There are many statues of Our Lady with particular attention to details. Then there are also the decorations or medals made of different types of metal. These represent a perfect gift for those wishing to make a present to someone dear and devoted to the Virgin Mary. (La Vergine di Guadalupe, Madre della civiltà dell'amore)
